KARA will be standing on the Tokyo Dome next year on January 6. The Tokyo Dome can seat 50,000 people and is considered a dream stage for many artists. Other Korean artists that have successfully finished their solo concerts at the Tokyo Dome include Rain, Super Junior and TVXQ. KARA is the first K-Pop girl group to hold their own concert here.
Then how did KARA become the first girl group to be able to perform on this stage?
KARA debuted in Japan with their song, "Mister" and received much more love and support than they imagined. Their famous 'butt dance' gained much attention and was being parodied by other Japan artists on TV shows.
KARA did not appear on TV shows as much as usual 'K-Pop stars' did. Instead, they held a guerrilla concert in order to meet their fans on a closer level. They also revealed their fluent Japanese skills and was able to use that on variety shows later which made their popularity rise even more.
Afterwards, the words 'first' and 'only' began to be put in front KARA as they made history with their single album. They became number one in Korea and number 4 in Japan for album sales.
With their undying popularity, they have filmed many Japan commercials and has released a DVD as well.
KARA is considered one of the most sought after Hallyu girl groups. They have finally reached their dream to stand on the Tokyo Dome. They will now officially be making another record as the first Korean girl group to stand on this stage.
